During this session we will first set the stage by looking at the evolution of the .NET landscape of the last 15 years. We will discover how on the one hand the complexity has increased, but at the same time we have great tools and platforms at our fingertips today. This enables us to build software effectively, quickly and a whole lot better than ever before. We will give our attempt to clarify Microsoft’s strategy for platform independent and open source solutions. Last but not least we will dive in ways to migrate your existing .NET code to newer standards and go into the question if you should consider migration to begin with.
