TEQnation 2021 – Bouke Nijhuis – The art of bug fixing
Every developer has to fix bugs, but hardly anyone talks about it. Creating greenfield applications is cool, but would it not be more beneficial for you to learn something you will do more often? I think every developer would benefit from sharpening this skill. In this talk I will show you what I have learned in all my years of bug fixing. Personally I like the hunting phase the most. This is the part in which you investigate what causes the bug. This is only one of the phases that I go through whenever I am fixing bugs. I will show you all phases and give tips for everyone of them. This will save you time which you can spend on learning fancy new technologies. The goal of this talk is to make you a bigger, better, stronger and faster bug fixer. Furthermore I hope you will start to enjoy the hunt like I do!
